Please do not turn this into Hindu vs Sikh Sainis. FYI, I am a Hindu Saini , basically from district Hoshiarpur. It is not easy to separate Hindus and Sikhs in Sainis of Punjab. Almost every Hindu Saini has close Sikh Saini relative and vice versa.

No Saini of Punjab, whether Hindu or Sikh, ever denies their Hindu ancestry. Unlike the other community you mention, we have nothing to be ashamed of who our ancestors were.

But our Hindu ancestors were not Malis or Gola/Gwalas as Mr. Anuj is going on like a broken record.

Our ancestors were the Rajput rulers of Mathura who were called Shoorsainis and who held control of Mathura till 11 AD. The references were already posted below. If you missed them , scroll down and read them again (if you can get through the enormous amount of spam posted by Mr. Anuj).
